Position Description:

  • Practice Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) techniques and methodologies on R&D and production projects to aid in Digital Engineering (DE) implementation
  • Aiding in developing digital engineering of current system engineering verification and validation workflow (System engineering V-Model)
  • Driving project developments, technology adoption, and mentoring other engineers/developers in MBSE workflows and software/tools
  • Development and maintenance of digital threads, data analytics, digital twins
  • Development and testing of software control systems algorithms
  • Designing, testing, review and maintenance of MATLAB /Simulink models for embedded control systems and C++ Code
  • Development of models and testing environments for requirements verification
  • Physical testing tasks utilize rapid prototype controllers (RPC), hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), and other testing tools to verify developed embedded control systems software on the hardware/vehicle.
  • Creating test plans and procedures for subsystem level testing or vehicle level
  • Supporting the processing and analysis of test data for verification of models
  • Support in validation testing and model development
  • Conduct research of new simulation techniques applicable to GDLS-C products
  • Write technical reports, prepare technical information to support bid and proposal activities
  • Support new product development with simulations and analyses
  • Participate in R&D planning with technology development proposals
  • Research new automotive technologies and evaluate their applicability to GDLS-C products
  • Participate in other computer modeling and simulation development needs


Position Requirements:

  • University Degree in Engineering
  • Relevant experience in computer modeling and simulation field
  • Previous system level experience in the automotive domain (performance, operability, projects, or methods development)
    • Experience in end-to-end systems engineering development
    • Background in physic-based modeling and analysis
  • Proficient with model based software’s (i.e. MATLAB/Simulink + toolboxes, CAD, Siemens Capital, Workbench, Enterprise Architect, etc…)
  • Knowledge of software / mechatronics development and implementation such as in-the-loop testing; Requirements in the loop, Software in the loop, hardware in the loop and vehicle in the loop
  • Superior communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders and developers from various disciplines
  • Proactive mindset, and quick and creative troubleshooter
  • Ability to travel (5% Canadian) and (5% US & International) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
  • Must be able to meet Anthropometrical Size Requirements for confined space


Preferred Requirements:

  • P. Eng
  • Advanced Degree in Engineering
  • Familiar with ADAMS suite of tools and/or with advanced CAE software packages
  • Implementation of digital engineering and data analytics on large development scale
  • Knowledge of automotive and off-road vehicle design
  • Knowledge of advanced controls systems and rapid prototype controllers
  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle dynamics


Internal/External

  • Hands on integration and testing of Vetronics Systems / mechatronics devices.
  • Experience in vehicle and subsystem testing, creating test plans/procedures and execution of vehicle/subsystem tests, experience in data collection, and processing.
  • Experience coding with VBA and Python
  • A background and/or interest in vehicle dynamics, controls systems, and/or electronics
