The Software Development Manager will be a member of our Data Technology management team. This is a team passionate about data, building new solutions the right way, and supporting all of our vehicle history data.  The work environment is innovative, high-energy and mission driven. This position reports to the Data Technologies Director, and serves as a technical lead many of CARFAX’s key product offerings. This role has an expectation of 3 days in the office per week, subject to change based on future business needs.

What you'll be doing:

  • Build teams, provide feedback, mentor, and manage data projects and production issues
  • Take an active role working with the leadership team to create exciting and engaging team building events
  • Lead and manage a team of developers and quality analysts across multiple locations
  • Establish clear goals and objectives that align with Department and Corporate Game Plans.
  • Interface with internal customers as the Subject Matter Expert in the processing and loading of data
  • Report status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to stakeholders
  • Raise the bar on technical excellence, show thought leadership and communicate effectively
  • Manage development processes to provide the highest quality of software delivery
  • Be responsible for the over-all systems development life cycle
  • Managing and executing against project plans and delivery commitments
  • Creating excitement and engagement with team culture experiences
  • Support you team members every day on their own personal journeys
  • Managing the day-to-day activities of the development team within an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Working closely with business leaders and other stakeholders to develop project plans, and participates in resource priority planning
  • Developing, evaluating, and implementing improved processes, methods, and tools to continually improve software delivery effectiveness

What we're looking for:

  • 8+ years of software design & development experience
  • 2+ years of experience leading software engineering teams using Agile methodologies
  • Experience owning and creating positive team culture experiences and events
  • Background in building/designing scalable enterprise software
  • Experience with AWS or other related cloud platforms
  • Proven track record of cross-functional project delivery
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
  • A track record of communicating well with executives and non-technical leaders
  • BS in Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline
