About the Role

PowerCo Canada Inc. is building Volkswagen Group’s largest battery cell factory in St. Thomas, Ontario. As part of this transformative initiative, we are seeking motivated new graduates to join our team as Equipment Planning Analysts. The analyst role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the planning and implementation of equipment for battery cell production. This role will support planning activities across various production steps including electrode processing, cell assembly, formation and aging, and cell finishing. This is a developmental role designed to provide hands-on experience and mentorship in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

This position is in-person and located in the charming town of St. Thomas ON.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and coordinating equipment planning concepts to support efficient, high-quality, battery cell production.
  • Support the implementation, commissioning and validation of production machinery and plant systems.
  • Participate in design reviews, testing, and supplier coordination to ensure technical and quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, logistics, and automation to align equipment plans with overall production goals.
  • Document and analyze issues contributing to root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute fresh ideas and a continuous improvement mindset to help optimize manufacturing processes and efficiency.
  • Learn and apply industry standards, safety protocols and internal engineering procedures related to equipment and process planning.

What you bring to the Team

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials, or Industrial.
  • 1-3 years of experience, includes internship/ co-op experience.
  • Strong interest in manufacturing, automation, or battery technology.
  • Preferred Qualifications in Battery Cell Research or related Internship.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional and international teams.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute in a dynamic, project-driven environment.
  • Basic understanding of technical drawings, process flows, or equipment design is an asset.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 20%) within Canada and internationally.
