R&D Engineering Supervisor

ZTR presents an exciting opportunity in the role of R&D Engineering Supervisor to join our Rail Team. Assist in leading our dedicated and collaborative R&D Engineering team in developing new products to tackle challenging real-world problems on a global scale!

As the R&D Engineering Supervisor, you will:

• Document, analyze, and recommend enhancements to business and safety processes and products
• Plan, execute, and monitor the allocation of resources, scheduling, and growth of engineering projects 
• Supervise team and individual performance, including goal setting for team and individual development
• Investigate and evaluate new control technologies
• Coordinate and interface extensively with other departments, supervisors, and our customers
• Lead in reporting team deliverables, costs and budgets to upper management
• Create technical documentation using AutoCAD, Visio, Microsoft Office, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience leading cross – functional teams
• Degree or Diploma in Electronics, Controls or Electrical engineering 
• Experience reporting team and project status to upper management
• Proficient in PLC programming

• Familiarity in industrial automation and systems integration preferred, although rail industry experience a definite asset

• Excellent knowledge of available off-the-shelf power systems, sensors, electromechanical devices, digital and analog electronics
• Understanding of control algorithms and algorithm design practices.
