In addition, our ZTR Railway Telematics Solutions enable remote Railcar and Maintenance of Way (MoW) construction equipment monitoring to make it easier for customers to manage mobile assets. Job Details

Reporting to the ZTR CEO and President, the Vice President & General Manager of the Rail Division provides strategic leadership for the development and growth of the rail division, ensuring teams are aligned with the company’s mission and objectives. 

 

This individual will provide leadership and focus on defining and launching new products and services, global product marketing, business development, technology, and sales.

 

Position Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Restructure the organization to enable significant division growth.
  • Drive results of the business unit with regards to financial, marketing, sales, operations, customer service and new product development
  • Drive development of new products and services
  • Ensure cost and time effective delivery of services and solutions.
  • Track, develop and control periodical departmental budgets.
  • Inspire highly technical and innovative employees.
  • Liaison with Clients, Business Partners and industry associations to further the growth of ZTR and propel the industry
  • Mentor and coach key personnel

 

Strategy

  • Provide vision and strategy to meet business needs, while identifying new opportunities for further growth.
  • Develop and implement an effective organizational structure to drive effective execution of initiatives.
  • Communicate clear, proactive plans to address challenges across the company.
  • Create and maintain key strategic alliances and partnerships

 

 Business Development

  • Global expansion
  • Manage Product Marketing to research and obtain “voice of customer” to find new innovative products and services to develop
  • Manage relationships within our current customer base in both large and small rail companies
  • “C”-level customer meetings
  • Participate in industry trade shows and various marketing endeavours, and campaigns

 

Education and Experience Required

  • 10+ years of experience in a senior management position, preferably as General Manager, Director of Business Development, or Director of Operations with P&L Responsibility
  • Some experience working at a senior level within the Railway Industry (or other similar, industrial technology industry) would be preferred
  • A Master’s Degree in a business administration program or similar field
  • Proven strategic planning and execution experience, with proven ability to set vision and strategy for operations
  • Proven leadership skills – passionate, positive attitude, persuasive, innovative, encouraging and motivating
  • Data-driven with strong analytical and quantitative skills as well as attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal and presentation skills
