As an SAP Specialist with London Hydro, you will bring in your Utility industry knowledge and SAP IS-U technical expertise in the various areas of IS-U, primarily Billing including complex billing using RTP, external AMI billing, Invoicing, Retailer billing scenarios in deregulated market, Print Workbench. Your role will involve providing production support and technical expertise across the organization, including timely implementation of regulatory changes and various ongoing projects such as S4 Hana Green Field implementation, as well as Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to streamline, optimize and design processes.

 

JOB DUTIES

Your responsibilities as an SAP Specialist will also include:

  • Under the guidance of a Senior SAP Specialist, acting as an IT SME for Customer Billing and related functions, liaising with business counterparts to gain an understanding of their requirements, and providing solutions adhering to the out-of-the-box approach, wherever possible.
  • Providing cross-module support, such as FICA, as required.
  • Supporting the ongoing SAP processes to ensure smooth, efficient business operations in the above area and leading various SAP projects aligned with London Hydro’s Corporate or Business plan.
  • Carrying out solution design and blueprinting to deliver robust business processes that take into consideration accepted industry practices.
  • Configuring, coding and testing the system per defined quality standards.
  • Participating actively in Projects & PMO activities. Currently, we are implementing S4 Hana as Green Field. You will be actively participating in the project as core SAP team member, assisting with blueprinting and solution design, data migration, cut over etc.
  • Writing business requirements and maintaining the necessary system documentation.
  • Providing service reporting and ad hoc management information, as required.
  • Adhering to all Occupational Health & Safety Act rules and regulations, the E&USA rule book, London Hydro work practices and London Hydro’s Health & Safety Management System.

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Along with having extensive knowledge of Utility Industry business processes, you should have demonstrated the ability to:

  • Conduct business requirement-gathering workshops and deliver business blueprint documents and/or solution design documents independently.
  • Write functional and technical specifications and work with Subject Matter Expert to configure and enhance SAP system.
  • Perform ABAP coding for FRICE (must have).
  • Prepare training materials and deliver end-user training.
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • Communicate complex and technical issues effectively to business users.
  • Work with a high degree of independence.
  • Communicate well, orally and in writing, while using good interpersonal skills.
  • Contribute effectively in a team-oriented environment.

 

You will bring overall 5 years of techno functional experience in SAP for Utilities and hands-on experience in the implementation of IS-U core processes mentioned below:

  • Billing, Invoicing, Print Workbench, Energy Data Management for billing and settlement, IDE or MPM for deregulated billing scenarios, AMI for Time of Use billing.
  • ABAP – development of ISU objects, including events and mass processing, ALE, IDOCs, Smartform & SAP Scripts, Reports, Workflow, and Web services.
  • You demonstrate in depth knowledge of FICA processes for Utilities and able to learn and support as needed.
  • PO – troubleshooting of interfaces or assisting in new interface development for related functions.

 

ASSETS:

  • Relevant S4 Hana IS-U experience.
  • FICA experience in payment processing, dunning, reconciliation and unbilled revenue reporting.
