What We’re Looking For

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our team!

The HR Business Partner will be responsible for acting as the frontline consultant to the business, working with managers in creating a positive employee experience and offering the best HR advice on people matters. They will operate and be seen as a subject matter expert, having deep knowledge in company and local programs, processes and policies; while offering strong, credible and compelling advice to business leaders on how to manage their team. The HR Business Partner will be dedicated to collaboration.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as an influential partner in helping managers with the talent management processes, people development and implementation of organizational changes
  • Spot trends and identify emerging needs, addressing them in partnership with the appropriate business or HR stakeholders
  • Analyze data and trends in order to provide input to the business strategy to prevent the recurrence of known issues
  • Coach, train and guide managers throughout performance appraisal and compensation planning processes
  • Support managers and employees in identifying training opportunities to further develop functional and managerial skills
  • Support people managers with career conversations, development plans and other development initiatives
  • Oversee and guide day-to-day employee relations & support
  • Consult managers on people matters that require in depth knowledge of policies, procedures and local legislation
  • Manage employee relations cases, in coordination with the Director of HR
  • Manage the exit process, including conducting ad-hoc exit interviews
  • Act as a representative of the employee experience and Northern’s culture

Knowledge, Education & Experience Required

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, in Human Resources or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant Human Resources experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the technology sector or within an agency setting
  • Project management and execution skills
  • Coaching and consulting skills
  • Strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem solving skills, critical thinking and analysis
  • Possess conviction and tenacity, and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Thrives in a dynamic environment and able to manage multiple simultaneous priorities
  • Possesses intellectual curiosity; brings insight into the team & business
  • Take the lead when faced with new and challenging opportunities
