Senior Systems Administrator
 

Join a dynamic IT team in a rapidly growing North America firm! The Senior Systems Administrator will handle day to day IT projects, configure, install and maintain company IT systems, networks and infrastructure.  As the senior systems administrator you will oversee the helpdesk staff and act as Tier 2 support for escalated issues.  Ensure the IT department is actively providing an excellent customer experience to our employees throughout North America. What Would a Typical Day Look Like?

  • Support two helpdesk employees, coaching and assisting them to provide an excellent customer experience to our JMP staff
  • Reporting to Director of Operations, Networking and Security Division on IT infrastructure, helpdesk and support KPIs
  • Work closely with Enterprise Applications Specialist to ensure infrastructure and cloud platforms are up to date, functional, and able to support business application requirements
  • Work with tight knit team to ensure that JMP’s IT systems, networks, infrastructure, computers, servers, and software systems are properly maintained, supported and available to all users with minimal downtime
  • Work on innovative ways to streamline deployment of IT systems and end-user hardware in a rapidly growing company
  • Overseeing and determining timeframes for IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations and outages
  • Provide input on planning, designing, installing, maintenance, and management of the network and infrastructure
  • Assist in planning, onboarding, and integration of company acquisitions
  • Provide input and adhere to the IT business plan providing effective and efficient internal IT processes and systems
  • Investigate new product offerings, service opportunities, and functions to help keep JMP current with new and relevant technologies and improve upon existing internal business deliverables, goals and objectives
  • Manage day to day IT tasks such as purchasing, helpdesk process and scheduling, tier 2 support

What Qualifies You for this Opportunity?

  • At least 8 years’ experience in an enterprise IT environment
  • Thorough understanding of the IT industry, including best practices, recommended applications and systems, and extensive overall general IT knowledge
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality results
  • Must be a self-starter with ability to work towards plans and targets set by manager
  • Ability to successfully work closely with a team
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple requests and tasks
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies
  • Experience with Cisco networking technologies
  • Superior understanding of subnetting, VLANs, routing/switching and wireless
  • Experience with VMware and virtual infrastructure technologies
  • Extensive knowledge of data center and cloud environments
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills related to the OSI Model and windows active directory systems
  • Experience managing enterprise security and anti-virus/malware
  • Microsoft 365 experience (SharePoint, Exchange, Azure)
  • Microsoft, VMware, ITILv3 and Cisco certifications an asset
  • College Diploma or University Degree in a related discipline is required
  • Experience with acquisitions a benefit
  • Leadership experience a plus
  • An ability to travel; although this position is based out of London and there is an anticipated 15-25% travel within North America.
