Specialist, Digital Marketing - Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)

Fairstone is looking to hire an experienced and specialized professional for the position of Specialist, Digital Marketing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) . This is a full-time, permanent position, joining the growing Digital Marketing team, currently consisting of 4 highly specialized, data-driven marketers.

This strategic thought-leader will focus their time primarily on driving acquisition for the company via organic efforts, while also owning user experience on the customer facing website, Fairstone.ca. The Specialist will work strategically and with passion to drive organic traffic, and further move traffic through appropriate conversion funnels, increasing company profitability, while striving towards maximum conversion. They will own CRO (conversion rate optimization) for the team, working with Program Managers and Sr. Analysts. The candidate must display a passion for performing tests, analyzing results, and working collaboratively with others. The ideal candidate would be someone who considers themselves to be a go-getter, innately curious and both creative while also technically savvy.

Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Digital Marketing, this role has the following responsibilities:
  • Owns the management of the organic search channel, including strategy and implementation of leading SEO tactics to make Fairstone highly visible on all Canadian-facing search engines
  • Owns, with a great degree of proficiency and passion, both on-page and off-page SEO tactics. Working with Fairstone’s Advanced Analytics department for support, they hold key responsibilities in the conception and execution of key off-page SEO strategies to optimize site structure, design, speed, tagging, indexing, etc.
  • Supports Sr.Analyst, Website Management, in updates and improvements to Fairstone’s customer facing website, including the personalization of content, modules, page layouts, etc., using the CMS Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
  • Owns the monitoring and reporting of the competitive environment, exploring developments to ensure Fairstone is leading the financial industry in digital strategies
  • Owns conversion rate optimization (CRO) strategies across the website, and adjusts strategies for different segments of Fairstone’s audience
  • Owns the journey mapping of Fairstone’s online audience and performs user behavior analysis, working with Program Manager’s to move audiences through appropriate funnels
  • Owns the development of testing frameworks and run optimization campaigns and multivariate experiments using company’s A/B testing tool, Adobe Target
  • Owns channel reporting and analyzing of data, through such tools as Google Analytics, Power BI and Microsoft Excel, while leveraging company’s SEO tool BrightEdge
  • Stays in the know on the latest digital marketing trends
  • Serves as a leader within the marketing community

The Minimum Qualifications For This Position Are
  • College diploma or university degree with relevant job-related experience
  • 5+ years of experience in SEO, including both technical and non-technical experience
  • 5+ years of experience with analytics, analysis, and reporting
  • 3+ years of experience in performance marketing and customer acquisition
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS and Javascript
  • Experience referring to Google Page Speed and Google Lighthouse reports and actioning critical items
  • Proficiency using Google Tag Manager (GTM) and other Google products (Google Analytics, Google DataStudio)
  • Considers oneself to have above average Excel skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, problem solving, and issue resolution skills
  • Proven ability to effectively work with team members, business users and technical staff
  • Ability to rapidly assimilate new ideas and able to communicate effectively with team
  • Bilingual skills (English, French) considered a great asset
  • Financial services industry background an asset
  • Previous experience using Adobe products, including Adobe CMS (AEM) and Adobe’s A/B testing tool, Adobe Target, considered an asset
  • Previous experience using SEO tool BrightEdge considered an asset
