The Canadian industry is thriving, valued at over $900 million, and is one of the leading exporters of fresh mushrooms in the world. But the domestic labour pool cannot supply enough workers to meet the industry’s demand. Many other countries face similar circumstances. As a result, mushroom farms throughout Canada and around the world are making large investments in process automation and robotic harvesting.
Mycionics Inc. is the first company in the world to successfully develop a commercially viable robotic harvesting service for the fresh mushroom market. We are actively recruiting for the following position:
Job Title: Machine Vision C++ Software Developer
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop custom C++ libraries, mathematical models, and various algorithms to improve the performance of our robots in complex tasks.
- Research, test, and implement novel approaches in the fields of 2D/3D imaging, robotic modelling, grasp calibration, AI, collision avoidance, non-linear optimizations, model fitting, data analytics.
- Collaborate and troubleshoot with our multi-disciplinary team on various projects involving software & hardware.
- Stay up to date, research, and identify mathematical concepts and libraries to enhance our existing code-base.
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics Engineering, or degree related to Image Processing and Robotics
- Industrial C++ experience
- ROS, OpenCV, PCL, TensorFlow, Caffe, Ceres
- CPU and GPU multithreaded techniques
- Active and passive mono/stereo systems
- Advanced system modelling, kinematics & dynamics, path planning, collision avoidance
- Calibration techniques for robots and vision systems
- Linux / Embedded Linux
- Git and CMake
- Software development and testing principles
- Full-time, 40-hours per week
