Responsibilities

The EDI Data Analyst will be responsible for coordinating ongoing campus-wide surveys of the diversity and inclusion of the University student, faculty and staff populations. The role will organize in-person and online team meetings, consultation meetings, draft project materials, manage expenditures, organize and align work to project timelines, coordinate ethics, technology and legal reviews, prepare period reporting, contribute to analysis and interpretation of survey data, and work with Communications Specialist to update information on EDI website. The EDI Data Analyst will also coordinate and collaborate with the data collection working group, student groups, enterprise systems functional specialists, Faculty and Support Unit leaders and their respective designates, Western Communications professionals, Student Experience staff and other key stakeholders and experts to ensure accurate, robust and informative data collection and reporting to support assessment of EDI efforts at Western.

Qualifications

Education:
-    Undergraduate degree
-    Project Management Professional certification is preferred
-    Master’s degree in a related field would be an asset
-    Undergraduate/Graduate coursework and/or internship developing research methodology preferred

Experience:
-    2 years of experience supporting moderately complex projects to gather and analyze quantitative research
-    Experience with communications and operational service to underrepresented or equity-seeking groups
Preferred:
-    Experience working in community-based research
-    Experience working with Western University, gaining an understanding of the organizational structure and the integrations between student, staff and faculty populations
-    Training in facilitation, conflict resolution, or other skills for group process
-    Some experience with database management, data cleaning and statistical analysis, and quantitative mixed methods analysis 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
-    Knowledge of various project management methods and tools include specialized software to support the planning and monitoring of projects and issues
-    General knowledge of survey design and measurement, statistics, basic analysis and census data
-    Excellent planning and time management skills, with ability to multi-task, produce and coordinate projects within tight deadlines
-    Ability to use tact and diplomacy with all sensitive issues and special situations.
-    Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently and with a strong sense of accountability
-    Leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide guidance and resolve issues when the Project Leader is unavailable
-    Self-driven, independent critical thinker who is highly motivated and skilled at anticipating and resolving stakeholder relation issues
