Technology Support Specialist - Information Technology Services

 

Technology Support Specialists are responsible for troubleshooting escalated work and advanced technical requests/calls from Client Support Specialists or directly from hospital staff/physicians. They will also manage small projects related to their area of expertise.  Work is delegated on a daily operational basis to Client Support Specialists to manage either work queues or project-related tasks.

Rate of Pay:               $29.35 per hour - $36.68 per hour

Hours of Work:           37.5 hours per week

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a 3 year College diploma in Computer Science/Technology, Computer Networking, or equivalent experience
  • A+ Hardware Certificate, MCSE or CNE preferred
  • Minimum three (3) years recent, related experience
  • Advanced knowledge of general hardware components, software applications, and networking tools
  • Advanced knowledge of health care specific computer applications
  • Demonstrated problem resolution and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated project leadership and management skills
  • Demonstrated technical and analytical skills
  • Advanced problem resolution and decision making skills
  • Advanced customer service and personal interaction skills
  • Advanced communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Demonstrated organizational and record keeping skills
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Mission, Vision and Values
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:

Successful candidates will be required to complete a health review which includes providing vaccination records or proof of immunity against Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella(Chicken Pox).In addition candidates will need to provide documentation of Tuberculosis Skin testing and a completed COVID vaccine series (two vaccines).
